Main Task: Production of The Magazine

After recieving feedback I decided to change my designs using the comments i got from 'areas to improve on'.

Here i have taken screen shots of how i created my front cover, contents page and double page spread.

I then gatherd feedback, from people aged 16-17, commenting upon the postives and things to improve on. From this i will be able to alter my designs in the best possible way to create the perfect magazine.

3 Action Points For Each Page:

Front Cover  - Change the background , Make the main image larger , Make the masthead larger.

Contents Page  - Change the position of the photo's , Make the colour's more the same , Change the word 'Contents'

Double Page Spread  - Add a background, Add more photographs, Make the image on the first page larger

Main Task: Mock Designs

I have created a mock up of designs i would like to create for my final magazine spread. I have created a front cover, contents page and a double page spread. I will then transfer these ideas onto my final piece replacing the internet pictures with my own pictures i have taken.

Main Task: First Photographs

I first took a few test shots to see what i wanted. I was able to critise my own photos and then improve on my next photos i was about to take. I varied different poses and outfits to be able to pick from a range of choices, i have annotated pictures that i did not chose and given reasons why.These are examples of photographs that i wasn't able to use for my final piece due to the fact they was not creating the right image and impression i was after for my music magazine.

Main Task: Photo Ideas

I put together a table gathering ideas for my photoshoot. I used photo examples from the internet to show an idea of how i wanted my pictures to come out like. However after a thought process i had decided to change my model to a boy and do different poses.

Main Task: Mission Statement

I have put together a statement in which i am going to aim to acheive in the creation of my music magazine. I have put two pictures of pop artists from the genre to make the page look more exciting.

Main Task: Design Ideas

For the next part in creating my music magazine i had to design different mastheads. I tried out different names, fot styles, and colours using the computer and sketches to create them.

Main Task: Target Audience

For the next part of my main task i was to gather photos from magazines and internet of things my target audience are interested in. I decided to put photos of celebrities that they like and other music or general things that i can relate with my targeted readers.

For the next part of my task i looked at two double page spreads from magazines that were of a genre to the one i have been looking at, pop. I commented upon the use of headings and photos used including colour schemes and textual analysis.

Following on from the last task the next thing to do was to annotate music magazine contents pages just like i did with the front covers. I commented in a similar way on the techniques the magazine has used to attract the audience.

I gathered three front covers from pop magazines similar to the genre 'pop' that i had written about. I searched for these over the internet and then annotated them, i wrote what i thought was good about the magazine and the different techniques they have used such as the colour of text and the images used .

To begin creating my main task i put together my ultimate playlist to help me to decide what genre to focus on. I also have written about the genre of music i have chosen.
